A side loader is fitted with lifting attachments operating to one side for handling containers. This side loader has forks as in any industrial trucks. In this the forks which lift the weight are perpendicular to the direction of travel to allow for side loading and straddle load support. The minimum aisle width requirement is 5 - 6ft. It can be used to handle greater than pallet size loads. The heavy loads which can't be carried by pallet trucks are handled by this side loader. The side loader helps carrying huge loads which is not possible in any other trucks. This loader balances the weight of the load equally on both of the sides, as the load is placed in the centre on the forks. Bar stock is the example which is in greater size and weight is carried by side loader.
