Crane is an ideal material handling equipment often used for raising, shifting, or lowering loads by means of a projecting swinging arm or with the hoisting apparatus supported at an overhead track. They range from small site crane to immense tower and deck cranes for heavy lifting applications including moving cargo containers, steel, concrete, large tools like acetylene torches and generators, and a wide variety of other building materials. Load lifting and moving controls include manual, power, or a combination of both. Industrial cranes are offered in jib, gantry, bridge or overhead, mobile or truck, boom, tower, and ship or deck. Jib cranes comprise a horizontal beam upon which a shuttle or hoist is mounted. Gantry cranes have a horizontal beam supported by end supports or legs and are offered in various sizes from workstation crane to large heavy construction cranes. Ship and deck cranes are designed for shipboard or dockside mounting for loading and unloading ships, freighters etc.
